AVG Announces CloudCare Updates, Partner Certification Program

AVG Technologies (AVG) will integrate AVG AntiVirus 2016 features into its AVG CloudCare remote IT management product. Here are the details.

AVG Technologies (AVG) will add AVG AntiVirus 2016 security features to its AVG CloudCare remote IT management product, and provide revamped training and certification for channel partners who use the solution.

The online security company announced that CloudCare will include cloud-based, real-time outbreak detection and artificial intelligence detection capabilities, along with a revamped scanning engine.

"We are transforming our AVG channel program to increase channel partner value," AVG business general manager Fred Gerritse said in a prepared statement. "We are putting new initiatives in place that will address these needs and help enable partners to become more experienced in AVG business security solutions and to work more simply and efficiently with us in the process."

AVG said its managed service provider (MSP) and reseller partners can use CloudCare to remotely support customers using Windows with CloudCare installed.

CloudCare alllows channel partners to deploy and manage cloud security solutions for multiple customers through a single pane of glass, according to AVG.

AVG eyes new partner certification program

In addition, AVG disclosed plans for a partner certification program designed to deliver "business, marketing and technical training to elevate AVG product expertise and simplify end customer onboarding and implementation."

"Partners have told us they need a fast, efficient and systematic approach to knowledge acquisition and skills development – coupled with ongoing support on multiple levels," Gerritse wrote in a blog post.

"They want to be able to ramp-up quickly on AVG products and technologies, clearly understand our product value propositions and how to position these with customers," he said. "Our answer to this need is the AVG Partner Certification Program (PCP) – a certification program that rewards each partner for developing their knowledge."

The program will include three tiers: Select, Premier and Elite.

"Each tier provides additional benefits based on the number of individuals who achieve certification," Gerritse said. "For example, Elite level requires the certification of three engineers and three sales professionals."

AVG supports 10,000 partners worldwide, and the company's new CloudCare capabilities and partner certification program are expected to be available next month.
