MSPAlliance Schedules April Managed Services Summit

The MSPAlliance is preparing a range of managed services summits and conferences for 2009. While some event details are pending, MSPAlliance President Charles Weaver says managed service providers can start to plan for the following conferences:

MSPAlliance Event Schedule

  • April 30 to May 1, Orlando: MSPAlliance Managed Services Summit
  • Mid-Year 2009, London: The association plans to have an event in London, most likely in the middle of the year. An exact date is pending.
  • Fall 2009, Las Vegas: MSPAlliance Managed Services Summit. Weaver expects the date to be announced shortly.
In addition, Weaver says the MSPAlliance will host a series of workshops throughout the world. The workshops will focus on the Managed Services Accreditation Program (MSAP) exam.

Busy Year for MSP Conferences

Despite the challenging economy, multiple organizations, vendors and media companies are moving forward with numerous MSP-focused events and conferences.

Of course, some IT events will struggle as businesses continue to closely monitor their travel expenses. Predictably, attendance is down at this week's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Also, Novell has canceled its annual BrainShare conference. And Apple has disclosed that it doesn't see a need to attend or support MacWorld after this year.

Still, highly targeted events -- especially those that focus on MSP education -- seem to be holding up better than broader IT conferences.
