PeakColo has brought on board a former Cisco Systems (CSCO) channel manager to head up its sales efforts. Dave Woodward joined the company as vice president of Sales from Insight Enterprises (NSIT), a Fortune 500 global provider of IT solutions, where he led more than 1,000 people across sales, operations and sales engineering departments.
While serving as vice president of U.S. Sales at Insight, Woodward helped to grow the company’s revenue to more than $5.3 billion in 2012. Before that, he held several senior sales roles at various technology companies. He was regional vice president of Sales and Delivery at Calence, regional channel manager at Cisco and global sales manager at Lucent Technologies.
It’s his experience with the channel that is of most interest here, and it looks as though Peak agrees. According to the company, which provides enterprise IaaS cloud services, Woodward will be responsible for “establishing and growing key relationships within the technology partner and channel communities.”
Woodward is walking into a company that is already 100 percent focused on the channel, so he won’t have to build a channel from the ground up. Instead, he’ll have to learn the ins and outs of Peak’s existing channel base and then drive it forward.
"With Peak, distributors, VARs and agents all have the opportunity to cost-effectively enable cloud services for their end users, and Peak is fully dedicated to helping them build out robust practices,” Woodward said in a prepared statement.
Peak provides its partners with the ability to white label its cloud computing services as their own. The company is entirely focused on the cloud computing space, and it has expanded across the United States and into Europe with six Type II SSAE 16- and SOC 2-compliant nodes (in Seattle, Denver, Chicago, New Jersey, New York and the United Kingdom).
