Distribution Watch: D&H Distributing, Tech Data

This week we're highlighting the latest news from D&H Distributing and Tech Data.

Happy Thursday, Distribution Watchers! This week we’ve got the scoop on updates from our friends at D&H Distributing and Tech Data (TECD).

D&H: D&H launched a new mobile app version of its website this week to meet the needs of its mobile users. The smartphone-friendly site features a series of navigation options and functions optimized for small screens so users can search, shop and manage orders when they are away from their desks.

The app includes an optimized search feature, stock status checks and an ordering screen sized for smartphones, according to the announcement. Users also can sync their shopping carts between the web version of the site and the mobile version. The app is available for download on D&H’s website.

“During these times, personnel work mostly via their cell phones,” said Jeff Davis, senior vice president of Sales at D&H Distributing, in a statement. “The mobile optimization of dandh.com makes it that much more seamless of an experience to access the dandh.com features they depend on to help them be more productive in the field.”

Tech Data: Tech Data was the recipient of this year’s Microsoft Excellence in Operations Award for its support of Microsoft Technology in the United States and Canada over the past year.

The award was presented to recognize Tech Data’s commitment to Microsoft and its North American channel customers, as well as for operational excellence, according to the announcement. Tech Data has previously won the same award in 2013.

"Tech Data is excited to again be recognized by Microsoft for our strong business performance and world-class customer care," said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president of Product Marketing for Tech Data Cloud. "Tech Data is continually optimizing processes and implementing new initiatives to streamline business that enables profitable growth for our partners."

In other Tech Data news, the distributor recently hired  James Turner as its first dedicated Android business development manager, responsible for increasing sales through the company's B2B resellers mobile dealers and retail channels, according to Mobile News.

Turner will also work with Tech Data Mobile's Android manufacturer partners including Samsung and Motorola to help resellers boost sales and create new market opportunities.

That’s all for now, so enjoy the rest of your week and we’ll see you back here next time. Until then, keep on distributing.
