Ingram Micro: Ingram Micro announced its East Coast Solution Center in Buffalo, New York, will now play host to a dedicated IBM solution demonstration area, as the distributor looks to give its channel partners new growth opportunities with IBM. The solutions center will be open to all Ingram Micro channel partners and features the latest and greatest IBM hardware, software and customizable solution sets to give resellers the opportunity to demo new products.
"Ingram Micro's new IBM Solution Demo Center is a valuable resource that channel partners can use for hands-on and remote training and education, as well as cross-selling and upselling clients and prospects on new IBM technologies and advanced solutions," said Jason Hernandez, director of Ingram Micro's Advanced Computing Division, in a statement.
The IBM Solution Demo Center is staffed and supported by a dedicated team of IBM-certified Ingram Micro technicians that are field-deployable and available to qualified IBM channel partners for pre-and post-sales activities, according to Ingram Micro. In addition to the latest and greatest tech from IBM, the center also will play host to a mix of independent software vendor offerings to demonstrate solutions around data center management, analytics, mobility management and more. Ingram Micro’s channel partners can utilize both the East and West Coast Solutions Centers for free to preview new technology, show solutions to customers and employees and utilize various training and education courses, the distributor noted.
Global Convergence: GCI announced it has acquired the operating assets of NXO Americas, a global services and solutions provider and North American subsidiary of NextiraOne Europe. The recent acquisition came about through Global Convergence’s existing global services partnership with the company, and is expected to allow GCI to continue to broaden its IT services offerings for channel partners.
“The addition of NXO Americas’ expertise and infrastructure, particularly around Alcatel-Lucent solutions, is a fitting addition to our robust services portfolio,” said Jim Bradshaw, chairman and CEO at Global Convergence. “The acquisition enables us to provide our partners with access to additional services and boosts our capabilities even further to deliver advanced solutions.”
With the acquisition, NXO Americas’ resources will become available to the GCI team, with the business being integrated into GCI’s existing infrastructure and brand, according to the press release. Channel partners will be able to leverage the NXO Americas brand as a white-label services opportunity as well, giving resellers more options to grow their businesses.
