IndependenceIT's Latest Cloud Workspace Suite to Offer More Control

IndependenceIT has announced general availability of Cloud Workspace Suite Version 4.2, its Workspace as a Service enablement software.

IndependenceIT has announced general availability of Cloud Workspace Suite Version 4.2, its Workspace as a Service enablement software, giving administrators more infrastructure choice with new support for Microsoft Azure.

According to IndependenceIT, the latest version provides more control over how solutions are built and delivered to match customer workloads on Azure, Google Compute Engine, Aritisan Infrastructure and other cloud platforms.

Cloud Workspace Suite is a platform that manages workspaces, applications and desktops as a service across devices, and is used by IT departments, service providers and ISVs.

“Our partners realize that the ability to customize their solutions on Cloud Workspace Suite software platform is an important competitive advantage, helping them to remove the barriers to gaining the full value WaaS,” Seth Bostock, CEO, IndependenceIT said in a statement. “Version 4.2 is another leap forward and addresses key limitations that are found in legacy alternatives. Our partners have validated these most recent enhancements and understand the value they provide.”

Some of the new features of the platform include enhanced virtual data center automation, the ability to define storage resources with custom attributes, and align resource requirements to meet system demands on a per client basis. The new version also allows more granular billing for partners through improved data tagging and analytics.

“Organizations that choose a modern WaaS offering over traditional VDI or alternative cloud-enablement solutions are doing so because the approach removes the need to purchase, manage and maintain complex infrastructure,” Structure Research analyst Karin Kelley said in a statement. "With the latest release of CWS, IndependenceIT has added more automation and customization features that will enable its service provider partners to meet the demands of the fast growing WaaS market."

Recently, IndependenceIT divided its channel program into two groups, one for partners that package elements of the Cloud Workspace Suite within offerings they already sell, and one for partners who sell direct to end customers.

In July, IndependenceIT launched a version of its Cloud Workspace Suite that included a number of new Azure RemoteApp automation features.
