Kenesto is trying to attract new customers by offering a free trial with the latest release of its cloud-based business process automation system.
Now available, Kenesto 2012.2 follows closely on the heels to an update to the system in June, which the CEO Michael Payne said generated requests from customers. Less than 60 days later, Kenesto has responded to customer requirements with new features, including:
- A new guidance layer that was designed to get end-users up and running quicker without extensive training or documentation. It also includes an automated walk-through in performing initial tasks in the BPA system.
- Process templates for commonly-used business processes that Kenesto is positioning as a major selling features versus its legacy PLM systems. The 2012.2 release provides end-users a way to graphically create and edit reusable templates for business processes. A new template editor saves templates directly to the cloud. According to Kenesto, creating a template requires no programming skills.
- Support for multiple domains on one Kenesto account for more flexibility in managing multiple domains. Different email addresses and business identities can now co-exist in the same account.
- Background upload of attachments and documents that allows end-users to continue working in Kenesto while files upload.
Since it's a cloud-based system, existing customers already have the benefits of the new version.
For businesses that aren't customers but that might be interested in finding out more about the product, Kenesto is now offering a free trial of the system. Kenesto doesn't indicate how long such a trial lasts on its website, but nor does it provide a pricing breakdown.
Kenesto sells its system through what is currently a small network of VARs. Kenesto has a fair bit of competition in the cloud-based business process automation market, including from some notable cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, which launched its own BPA system called Simple Workflow Service earlier this year.
