nScaled DRaaS Added to ArrowSphere Marketplace

Arrow Electronics has signed a distribution agreement with nScaled to add the vendor's disaster recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) offering to its ArrowSphere marketplace.

Arrow Electronics (ARW) is once again expanding the available cloud services options on its ArrowSphere marketplace. The distributor signed an agreement to add nScaled's disaster recovery-as-a-service (DRaaS) offering to ArrowSphere.

Arrow plans to integrate nScaled DRaaS into its ArrowSphere platform to enable its partner community to configure, price and order the offering. According to nScaled, the DRaaS service provides partners with increased flexibility in helping customers make the transition to cloud computing services.

"We believe that nScaled's Cloud DR service provides a level of service that is unmatched in the industry," said Jim Livingston, vice president of North American services for Arrow's ECS segment, in a prepared statement. "The combination of speed, operations simplicity, performance guarantees and professional support at for a midmarket cloud DR solution are unprecedented."

It's another sign that Arrow is trying to enable its channel partner customers in the cloud age—something that distributors at first struggled with, but have since found ways to be innovative, acting as a central enablement tool.

"Our partnership with Arrow will enable nScaled to distribute our DRaaS cloud solution to even more businesses through a broader community of partners," said Mark Jameson, vice president of Sales at nScaled, in a prepared statement. "With Arrow, and technology relationships like our NetApp Service Provider partnership, we are able to bring cloud based IT protection to midmarket businesses who need to make sure that their business stays in business."

As customers move to the cloud, one of the first things they look at is storage and disaster recovery, so there's a huge opportunity for partners—not only in DRaaS, but also in introducing customers to cloud in a beneficial way and then later upselling them on other services and benefits they may not have initially realized.
