IBM Brings Object-Based Storage Services to the Cloud

IBM has unveiled object-based cloud storage services to help customers better manage their unstructured data. Big Blue noted the new services, called IBM Cloud Object Storage, are designed to provide enterprises with "fast, flexible, hybrid cloud storage-as-a-service solutions."

Skyhigh Networks Announces Cloud Security Technology Partner Program

Cloud access security broker Skyhigh Networks has launched its Cloud Security Technology Partner Program, which is designed to "provide customers with the most advanced cloud security solutions on the market." Skyhigh Networks said the new program could help enterprises implement security solutions and maximize the value of their existing technology investments.

FortyCloud Now Available Through Microsoft Azure Marketplace

FortyCloud has announced an integration with the Microsoft Azure Marketplace that enables Azure users to launch the FortyCloud service directly from the cloud marketplace and enhance the security of their cloud deployment. The cloud infrastructure security broker said the integration empowers Azure users to build their network security solution "over any number of data-centers and in any topology."

85% Of Enterprises Keeping Sensitive Data in the Cloud – 70% Very or Extremely Concerned About It

The "2016 Vormetric Data Threat Report" of 1,100 senior IT security executives revealed 85 percent of respondents are using sensitive data in the cloud, up from 54 percent last year. Also, the report showed enterprises ranked "security breaches/attacks at the service provider" as their top data security concern for cloud services.  

IDC's Latest CloudView Multiclient Study Reveals Attitudes and Strategies of the 58% of Organizations Embracing Cloud

A new IDC study of 6,159 respondents about the cloud showed 58 percent of all organizations are using public or private cloud for multiple applications or workloads. In addition, the study indicated improving resource utilization and staff productivity was the top driver for cloud adoption in organizations.
