It's no secret that security is expensive, and Kaspersky Labs is hoping its new product designed for SMB-budgets helps offer some relief to smaller organizations. Designed for SMBs and MSPs, Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud is an IT security SaaS product that offers protection for Windows workstations, file servers, and mobile devices on either Android or iOS.
Managed through a cloud-based console, Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud can monitor up to 1,000 corporate users, and utilizes the Kaspersky Security Network and System Watcher, among other features, to guard against known and emerging threats, including ransomware.
“Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud provides SMBs with sophisticated technologies that block network attacks and identify existing and emerging threats in a simple and convenient way. It allows SMBs to make the most of limited budgets and headcount, so that they can enjoy advanced protection without reducing the resources available for strategic business development and future growth,” said Vladimir Zapolyansky, Head of SMB Marketing at Kaspersky Lab. “Managed Service Providers, in turn, gain an efficient tool that they can use to develop their business. Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud allows them to improve the quality of their customer care and guarantee service reliability.”
Kaspersky says MSPs can use its Endpoint Security Cloud service to replace security management, mobile device management, and other security tools for multiple corporate customers, managed from its multi-tenant console. Time required to onboard new clients is reduced with pre-set security profiles and the ability to apply a security policy across all user devices, the company said. MSPs can also choose between cloud and on-premise models.
The new offering replaces Kaspersky Endpoint Security Core, which is no longer offered in some regions, in the company’s product portfolio. Free trials are available through Kaspersky’s website.
Research published earlier this year by Kaspersky and digital traffic management company Allot suggested that protecting mobile users against their use of potentially risky apps is a significant market opportunity. Indeed, as the SMB hosting market nears saturation, security is the top differentiator among service providers, according to survey results recently released by Clutch.
