The company said Purcell will take an active role in scaling Clarizen's global business, focusing on new customer growth, as well as making customers successful.

During his time at SAP, Purcell held a variety of sales and senior sales leadership roles at SAP, working with customer growth in emerging areas and markets. Before SAP, Purcell held sales and business development leadership roles at various technology companies, including Covalent Technologies (acquired by VMWare (VMW)), Shutterfly and Pure Software (acquired by Rational Software and IBM (IBM)).
Clarizen founder and CEO Avinoam Nowogrodski said in prepared statement that Purcell will help lead the company's vision of connecting social collaboration.
