The Mountain View, California-based tech company on Wednesday said its Storage Sync will now include Microsoft Hyper-V support for "Windows administrators who want to cloud-enable existing Windows servers or other storage devices, and provide enterprise-class access and sharing to that data."
Now Egnyte's platform integrates and supports several hypervisors, including Hyper-V, VMWare (VMW) and its own native storage integrations.
Egnyte co-founder and Products VP Rajesh Ram said in a prepared statement that customers should be given choice with regard to managing business files.
"Many of our customers' IT solutions are deployed through Windows environments, and adding support for Hyper-V on our platform offers the flexibility of deployment options for accessing 100 percent of enterprise data," he said.
Storage Sync for Hyper-V is already deployed with select customers and will be generally available on July 30.
Egnyte could not be reached for additional comment on the announcement.
This news follows a week after Egnyte's move to add new policy-based functionality to Storage Sync, the company's hybrid file sync and share storage solution.
