The Boston-based cloud and hybrid backup recovery solutions provider said the new version of Carbonite Server Backup enables small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to protect data created and hosted in the cloud.
Channel partners can offer Carbonite Server Backup to SMBs to deliver hybrid backup for Exchange Online in Office 365, Carbonite said, and help these businesses protect their sensitive information as they migrate it to the cloud.
"Adding support for Office 365 within Carbonite Server Backup opens a new range of opportunities for our channel partners by helping SMBs keep their businesses in business. Carbonite Server Backup enables SMB IT managers and owners to easily and affordably protect critical Office 365-hosted data from user error, malware attacks and data loss drivers and provides control over hybrid backup of local and cloud environments in a single solution," David Maffei, Carbonite's vice president of global channel sales, told Talkin' Cloud.
Also, Carbonite Server Backup now features:
- AES 128-bit encryption — Users have the ability to create a 256-bit private key encryption, too.
- Mailbox-level backup and restore — Carbonite Server Backup provides backup and recovery of individual Exchange mailboxes.
- Customization capabilities — Administrators can apply Carbonite Server Backup's customization capabilities, including network utilization, storage capacity, retention periods, cloud and local backup targets, to Office 365.
The new version of Carbonite Server Backup is now available.
Carbonite, which ranked 19 on the 2014 Talkin' Cloud 100, currently supports more than 1.5 million customers and continues to gain ground in the backup recovery solutions market.
Carbonite recorded $122.6 million in revenue last year, which represented a 14 percent year-over-year increase.
