The software, dubbed Blue Medora VMware vRealize Operations Management Pack for Dell Compute, is a combined offering that brings Blue Medora’s cloud and data center management solutions to Dell’s PowerEdge portfolio. The solution uses VMware vRealize Operations to monitor Dell servers and report potential system issues or errors before they damage an active environment, according to the announcement.
“The release of our Management Pack for Dell PowerEdge extends our ability to meet the needs of customers across a wide range of technology environments and platforms,” said Mike Kelly, Blue Medora CTO, in a statement. “Our strategy will see our product range expand still further in coming months to deliver the most comprehensive and capable cloud management and application performance management product suite available anywhere.”
The combined software is designed to eliminate the confusion typically associated with individual data silos by creating an underlying means of monitoring the entire VMware-based Dell server, according to Blue Medora. Administrators can monitor their physical servers within the virtual layers via the vRealize Operations Manager, which also allows users to create custom dashboards for server diagnostics, according to Dell’s official blog. This, in turn, can help determine the origin of the issue, whether it is from VMware’s software or the Dell server itself.
Straight from the press release, Blue Medora’s suite also includes the ability to:
- Automatically detect and create relationships between Dell PowerEdge servers and virtual machines.
- Send system alerts and recommendations
- Monitor capacity on mission critical servers
- Compile and deliver reports related to the overall health of the Dell Server and its virtual machine.
The new software suite follows closely on the heels of Blue Medora’s launch of the True Visibility Partner Program, a global offering designed to help resellers expand their VMware vSphere and vRealize Operations businesses.
