Genband NUViA Launches White-Label Communications Suite

Genband, a developer focused on IMS and cloud communications, has released a secure multimedia communication cloud service designed for service providers and channel partners to take branded unified communications (UC) and rich communications suite (RCS) service applications to enterprise and consumer customers.

The new NUViA cloud offering could provide a good foundation for channel partners who have not yet dipped their toes into the cloud pond. For those who don’t want to or can’t afford to lay out the cash to build their own services or service infrastructure, a service from the likes of Genband presents an easy way to begin building a cloud services business — even acting as a cloud services broker and vetting a variety of services for their customers.

As for service providers, NUViA could be an add-on to existing services — perhaps opening up a new line of business in cloud related to UC and RCS.

“NUViA offers service providers a radically different model for deploying communications services from what is available today,” said Jeff Townley, president of Genband’s Services Business Unit & Global Operations, in a prepared statement. “Service providers and channel partners can leverage NUViA’s unprecedented deployment options, including hybrid models with the ability to augment the NUViA-delivered services with in-house applications, to deliver customers a unique, customized and cost-effective alternative to services derived from premises-based equipment.”

One of the ways the company is looking to support service providers is through what it calls a “build, transfer, own” model that presents a low-risk, low-barrier-to-entry and quick path to offering rich multimedia communications services in the cloud. The NUViA service is built on Genband’s EXPERiUS technology.

“A managed communication service in the cloud using Genband’s carrier-class unified communication solutions is an attractive value proposition for service providers and channel partners searching for revenue-generating offerings for enterprise and consumer customers,” said Elka Popova, program director at Frost & Sullivan, in a prepared statement.
