Alert Logic, the Security-as-a-Service provider for cloud environments, has acquired Armorlogic, a web application security solutions provider. According to Alert Logic, the deal means that all of its business customers will now have a full managed security solution for Web-facing applications.

Alert Logic’s SaaS platform will integrate the Armorlogic Defense Web Application Firewall (WAF) solution — a SaaS platform as well — in order to protect its customers against Web application attacks. According to Alert Logic CEO and President Gray Hall, Alert Logic has the means necessary to take the Armorlogic WAF solution to the international stage.

“Alert Logic’s ability to transform Armorlogic’s product into a fully managed SaaS offering, coupled with our outstanding partner network including the leading hosting and cloud service providers in the world, gives us the ability to bring a market-leading WAF solution to the market segment that needs it most,” Hall said in a prepared statement.

Alert Logic recently announced 2011 cloud security revenue growth and named Chris Noell as its new VP of product management to “lead the company’s product expansion plans.” Already, we’re seeing those expansion plans come to fruition with the Armorlogic deal.
