When Ken Colburn founded Data Doctors back in 1988, he wanted to build a company that would solve the technological problems of both consumers and small businesses, but without all of the “geek speak.”

A ‘devastating’ hard drive crash
Data Doctors has used Carbonite to restore its clients’ files many times. But one story in particular sticks out in Colburn’s mind.
One of Data Doctors’ clients is a managed healthcare facility that specializes in assisted living. A while back, one of the managers of the healthcare facility experienced a “devastating” hard drive crash on her primary laptop. Understandably, she became very distressed and feared she would lose critical information that the business runs on.
“She completely forgot about the fact that we had everything backed up with Carbonite,” Colburn said. “We put a new hard drive in her machine and then used Carbonite to do a full restoration of her critical data. She was so happy that she hugged the technician.”
