Intronis is promoting Haiyang (Harry) Li to vice president of engineering, a position formerly held by Jay Bolgatz, who left the company in November 2013. Bolgatz had served as interim CEO of Intronis from Sept. 2012 until March 2013. His LinkedIn profile states that he is seeking a new opportunity.
Li will lead the cloud backup and disaster recovery (BDR) provider's research and development, software development, quality assurance, operations and corporate IT departments, reporting directly to Rick Faulk, the company's CEO.
Li will also work closely with Intronis’ sales, marketing and leadership teams to expand its lineup of cloud back-up and recovery solutions, the company said.
Before taking on this new role, Li served for two years as Intronis' director of development where he managed the company’s software development schedule and led engineering teams in the United States, China and Romania.
Li joined Intronis in 2011 from Kenexa Corporation, where he served as the company's managing director of software engineering.
Intronis CEO Rick Faulk said in a statement that Li has the "technical, leadership, communication and strategic skills" to bring the Intronis engineering team to the next level.
"Harry is committed to helping us deliver industry-leading cloud backup and recovery solutions that address the business needs and requirement of our partners and their customers," he said.
"It’s an honor to lead this group and join our executive team in making Intronis the IT channel’s best provider of cloud backup and recovery services," Li said in a statement.
Sources close to Intronis have told MSPmentor that channel partners can expect the company to make more hiring moves over the course of the year.
Intronis hired Jasmine Lombardi in October 2013 as the company's vice president of partner success to lead the new Intronis Partner Success organization.
