16. AppRiver, Gulf Breeze, FL, USA: AppRiver, founded in 2002, offers cloud-based email security solutions that protect 45,000 customers and 8 million email mailboxes worldwide. Top Exec: Michael Murdoch, President & CEO

15. Terremark (Verizon), Miami, FL, USA: Acquired by Verizon in 2011, Terremark has datacenters in North America, Latin America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. 13. iland Internet Solutions, Houston, TX, USA: iland is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) transitioning into the cloud market, promoting email, storage and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) worldwide. Top Exec: Scott Sparvero, CEO

12. Verio, Greenwood Village, CO, USA: Owned by NTT Communications since 2000, Verio promotes hosted and cloud solutions to SMBs worldwide. Much of Verio's business flows through a network of OEMs and viaVerio channel partners. Top Exec: Hideyuki Yamasawa, President & CEO

11. mindSHIFT Technologies Inc., Waltham, MA, USA: mindSHIFT, acquired by Best Buy in late 2011, has pushed beyond managed services to heavily promote cloud services including hosted Exchange and VDI  (virtual desktop integration) opportunities. Top Exec: Paul Chisholm, CEO
